OPHI Summer School
Monday 06th December 2010 - Friday 17th December 2010
09:00 - 17:00 GMT
Santiago de Chile, Chile

OPHI taught a two-week summer school on multidimensional poverty in Spanish this month, from 6-17 December, at the Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) in Santiago, Chile. Forty people participated in the course, including students, policymakers and technical experts from government offices in Latin American countries.

The summer school was co-organised by OPHI and CEPAL, the Ministry of Planning, Chile (MIDEPLAN) and the Foundation for Overcoming Poverty (FSP). It was part of the Programme to Support Social Cohesion EU-Chile implemented by various public institutions to promote policies that help overcome inequality and promote social dialogue. In its first phase, the programme had funding of 20.5 million euros, provided equally by the European Union and the Government of Chile, under the coordination of the International Cooperation Agency of Chile (ACGI).

OPHI also runs an annual summer school in English on the same topic; see OPHI Short Courses for details.
