Sri Lanka’s Multidimensional Poverty Index 2019 Results: National and Child Analyses

National MPI Reports

This report presents the results of Sri Lanka's official national Multidimensional Poverty Index and linked official child Multidimensional Poverty Index. Based on data from the Household Income and Expenditure Survey 2019 (HIES 2019), the Sri Lanka national MPI comprises ten indicators grouped under three dimensions of education, health and standard of living. The child MPI is directly linked to the national MPI by including the same indicators as the national MPI and adding indicators of undernutrition and early childhood development.

The Sri Lanka national and child MPI was developed by Department of Census and Statistics in Sri Lanka in partnership with OPHI and UNICEF Sri Lanka. This report was published in April 2023.
