Seychelles to host the 7th Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network Annual Meeting this July
The 7th Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network Annual Meeting will be held from 1-3 July in Mahe, Seychelles. The Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network (MPPN) is a global network of nearly 60 countries and 20 international organisations developing and using multidimensional poverty indices for more effective poverty reduction.
High-level representatives from approximately 25 countries and 10 international organisations from every region in the world have confirmed their participation and are part of an exciting line-up of speakers. The 2019 Annual Meeting will engage participants in reflections on how to tackle poverty in all its dimensions.
Over three days attendees will share their experiences of developing and implementing multidimensional poverty indices. Topics covered will include how MPIs have been used for more effective policy design and for tracking progress towards the SDGs.
This will be the first Annual Meeting to take place in one of the Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The event is kindly hosted by the Government of Seychelles with the support of the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) which acts as the secretariat for the MPPN.
