Multidimensional Poverty in Sierra Leone

This report presents the findings of the second official National Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) for Sierra Leone, based on data from the Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) of Sierra Leone of 2019 and includes results for changes over time between 2017 and 2019. 

The report was produced in collaboration with Statistics Sierra Leone, with technical guidance and support from UNDP and OPHI. The first report on the National Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) was published in 2019.  

The report is published at the halfway point to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and in the beginning stages to the preparation of Sierra Leone’s new Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP), 2024–2028.
