5th MPPN Meeting in China

The 5th Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network annual meeting concluded successfully in Beijing. Ministers and senior officials from 15 countries met to discuss progress on Multidimensional Poverty measurement and reduction. The meeting was rich and fruitful including panels on MPI design, national experiences, coordination and budget allocation, the MPI in the SDGs era, and the role of international agencies.

Participants of the MPPN meeting agreed on a three-point Communique that outlines priorities and agenda of the Network in the coming months. A report of the event including presentations, speeches and photos will be posted on our website soon.

This event was hosted by the International Poverty Reduction Centre in China (IPRCC) and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative and it took place from 9th to 11th October, 2017.
