Brief Description: The Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network (MPPN), of which OPHI is the Secretariat, held a special side-event at the UN General Assembly to discuss the future of multidimensional poverty measurement in the context of the post-2015 development agenda. Panelists at the event, which was webcast live, included ministers from Germany, Colombia, the Philippines, Mexico and Nigeria, as well as OPHI’s Director Sabina Alkire and Erik Solheim, Chair, OECD Development Assistance Committee.

Brief Description: President Juan Manuel Santos of Colombia joined high-level representatives from Mexico and around 20 other governments to formally launch a new Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network in Oxford on 6-7 June. This international peer network for policy makers engaged in implementing multidimensional poverty measures provides peer-to-peer technical and policy support, and mutual input into design and institutional arrangements.
